LogBook

LogBook is a mobile/web application that allows a member of medical staff to record a log of their daily work activities. Users can log information about an individual patient or the overall status of a medical ward. LogBook is currently accessible on the iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, Android and all main web browsers.

LogBook is a cross-platform web application that allows users to keep a digital log of their daily work practices. These logs are then syncronised with the CollegeCentral system and can be used to generate textual and graph based reports, both to the user via the logbook interface and administration using the CollegeCentral system. Current applications of the LogBook include an Anaesthesia Logbook, an Intensive Care Medicine Logbook and a Pain Medicine LogBook. The system can be customised in any way for each Postgraduate Medical Training Body.

The LogBook consistes of a number of different entry fields ranging from hierarchical select lists, multi-select lists, free-text fields, checkbox fields and much more. Category and Subcategory select lists can be managed from CollegeCentral and updated dynamically across all supported platforms. Due to the fact that it is accessable accross all the most popular smartphones as well as from a PC or Mac, it is easy for users to fill in their logs while they go about their daily business, from their desk when they have some free time or even from home. Recorded logs can be used to analise any number of different criteria including use of particular skills, exposure to different situations, inter departmental performance etc.
